Summers in the Gorge

The view from each cove is STELLAR!

Each year my wife (Lisa) and I spend at least a few of our summer months in the Columbia River Gorge. We have been doing this for over 25 years.

The Gorge is a haven for windsurfing, something we have been doing all our lives.

And it's all been done in our motorhome, allowing us to travel to the various sailing spots and still have the comforts of home.

Camping in the Gorge has always been quite rustic for us, until we discovered Skamania Coves. Cinda and Scott Lonsway purchased this park in (insert year) and it has changed our way of life.

So let me start here:
 *  The RV spots AND the cabins have stunning views of the river (something we never had at any other campground).
 *  There are 3 separate coves for lounging, barbecues, swimming (or any other water activity). There's even a launching ramp for small boats. The view from each cove is STELLAR"!
 *  The grounds are immaculate. Lawns are carefully groomed, and the rest of the landscaping is kept perfect. (Scott himself does most of the work!!)
 *  The resort manager (Janet) is always on site and maintains a watchful eye on the premises. She's also a lovely person and we enjoy her company immensely!!

Additionally, Scott and Cinda themselves add an affable charm to the experience, always available for friendly conversation. Scott has a big sailing history, which is a great common interest to my wife and I. He and his business partner frequently race on the Gorge and have even gone into the TransPac Yacht Race from Los Angeles to Hawaii several times. (Don't forget to ask him about it when you see him).

All in all, Scott, Cinda, and Janet have made this our "bit of heaven" for many summers now. They have taken us into their family and made it home.

If you ever have the opportunity to visit one of the most idyllic places in the Northwest, don't pass it up.

IT'S AMAZING!!
